Sasch Bbc
Sascha Ries aka Sasch BBC is not a reporter of the splendid british news channel, the more he is entertainer of delicious electronic music from German‘s Rhein-Main-Area. Deep-seated are the roots in there of the current Loft resident, which shaped the mentality of his sound since the beginning.
In young days, Sascha was electrified by the precursor of the early electronic scene like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb, which had found its finalization with Sven Väth’s enchanting sets of the HR3 Clubnight. The desire of spinning records himself and encouraging the crowd for dancing raised and was recompensed with the first residency in the age of 16 (1993) – in a time when pegging styles was not in common practice, when Techno was simply Techno and even House and Happy Breakbeats have got in a line. Exactly this music, in what Drum’n’Bass have been attended, was Sascha leading up to his next residency in the former Basement Club of Ludwigshafen. At the same time in his homework station, the Amiga was treaten to first steps in producing. And for the huge pleasure of the folks, a lot of tapes were mixed.
2001 have come along the residency in the Loft Club Ludwigshafen, which remains true until today. The impulsive sets were decisive for direct support of Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Chris Liebing, Ricardo Villalobos, Turntablerocker and many other top-class DJs. Sascha became iconic in the wildly acclaimed Loft Club. Meanwhile in 2002, the event label “Envy My Music” kept an eye on him to make his decision easily taking as well a residency in Frankfurt’s innovative Monza Club. By now he conquered almost all electronic clubs around the Rhein-Main-Area, which offered him toplay in clubs like Cocoon, 50 Grad (Mainz) and the King Kamehameha. On the Top in his DJ career have been the sets at the Time Warp 08 & 09! Particular amazing, he says, was the gig in Bodrum (Turkey) on a catamaran with a glassy dancefloor at open sea, as well as performances in South Africa.
“Music is to be fun” is spoken by his mouth, as it is distinctive in his sets. Heavily affected by the local specific minimalistic Deephouse sound, he spreads his music up to groovy and funky House. “If it needs to be, bloody techno clapped to the crowd’s ears” – but always with this certain elements of high temper, because dark and blunt has never been his thang.
Longtime awaited, but 2008 Sasch BBC’s first vinyl was ready to shot into the world of music. “Sunprooft” was the baby’s name and has been released on Hertzlich Records. Shortly after this, Alex Flatner signed the “Catfoot Track” on Plastic City. Cooperations with his brother-in-crime Caspar brought releases in 2009 on Plastic City, Herzklopfen, Brise and 8bit.
