Stopmakingme
Over the past few years, Stopmakingme has made a name with his residency at London institution Fabric as well as regular appearances at nights such as Bugged Out and Durrr. His love for Trash, Optimo and older references like The Paradise Garage all come through in his DJ sets where electro and techno sit alongside updated post-punk, huge disco, mutant new wave and perfect pop choruses whilst no momentum - or any floor - is lost.
His productions are a culmination of everything he loves about the dancefloor. Analogue synths, oddball Italo Disco big enough to work in main rooms, pulsing electroclash, Factory Records, bands like Death In Vegas and The Kills who make guitars work in clubs, Hot Mix 5-style handclaps,DFA percussion plus all the modern electro he’s grown up on like The Chemical Brothers, Simian Mobile Disco and Tiga.
Dan also co-runs the hugely successful Kill Em All club night with the Filthy Dukes, championing new music made by live bands as much as electronic artists. In the odd spare moment, he writes a regular feature for Dummy Magazine where he interviews others within his scene (as well as a few heroes.)
